Adult Leader Training

Adult Leader Training helps to improve leadership skills and deliver a quality program. Many of the courses can be taken online. A login is required, but anyone may create a user account and view the courses. Registered members of the BSA may provide their member numbers (as part of the user profile) to receive credit.

Outdoor Training is required to be a "Trained" Boy Scout Leader, and supplemental for Cub Scout Leaders. Outdoor sessions include:

  • BALOO (Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation) - Cub Scouts
  • Outdoor Leader Skills for Webelos Leaders
  • Introduction to Outdoor Skills - Boy Scouts
The Boy Scouts of America offers many supplemental training opportunities for both youth and adults, such as Hazardous Weather Training, Safety Afloat, and Safe Swim Defense, plus many others. Log into your MyScouting account to see all of the available training sessions offered on line.
